The AMDH has nearly 10,000 members at the end of December 2009 including 20% of women.

It has 91 sections among which 3 are on the way to be formed across the country and grouped into 8 regional sections.

The National Congress is held every three years and elects an administrative committee whose maximum number is fixed at 75 members. It holds its meeting 4 times a year.
The administrative Committee in turn elects the Central Bureau, and is the executive body of the AMDH; it meets twice a month.

The AMDH aims to reach 15,000 members by 2010. Its activity is based on four key categories: women, youth, workers, Democrat intellectuals. Concerning women’s empowerment, the AMDH has achieved successfully within itself the slogan: "At least one-third of women towards the perspective of equality."
